WILLAMETTE FALLS DRIVE STREETSCAPE
Our team was engaged by the City of West Linn to partake in the Willamette Falls Drive Streetscape Project. The project aims to improve multi-modal transportation, pedestrian safety, and the visual experience of the street while reflecting the area's unique identity. Clement Walsh Landscape Architect, Inc. developed the planting plan in response to community concerns and the city's criteria. We sourced large-caliper trees to promote a mature streetscape appearance, while introducing a diverse canopy for long-term resilience. Native and drought-tolerant perennials were chosen for low maintenance needs and seasonal interest. Strategic tree placement enhances intersections, ensures clear sight lines, and avoids conflict with bike lanes. Collaborating closely with city officials and the Historic Willamette Main Street Group, we ensured the project's design met community and regulatory expectations, creating a vibrant, functional, and sustainable streetscape for West Linn. |
