This backyard renovation transformed two previously disconnected properties into a cohesive, multi-level landscape for family recreation and outdoor entertaining. The existing retaining wall was preserved, while new circulation connects the upper and lower terraces and gives each level its own distinct character.

The lower garden is centered around family gathering and play, with a dedicated playground, artificial turf, and paver patio with a gas fire pit. Replacing the existing lawn with artificial turf created a durable, low-maintenance surface that accommodates year-round use. A dry stream bed manages site drainage while integrating naturally into the surrounding planting.

On the upper terrace, a putting green and custom-designed pavilion creates a more relaxed outdoor living space for entertaining. A bubbling boulder fountain provides a focal point and subtle background sound, while layered planting softens the transition between the terraces and surrounding mature landscape. 

Low-voltage landscape lighting extends the use of the backyard into the evening, illuminating circulation routes, gathering areas, landscape features, and the putting green without overwhelming the garden.
