Trail Ridge Residence

A key goal for this property was to create a welcoming sense of arrival while strengthening connectivity throughout the landscape. A row of Frans Fontaine hornbeams frames the long driveway, creating a stately approach and drawing visitors toward the home. Thoughtfully placed uplighting highlights the driveway trees and select specimen trees, extending the landscape’s visual impact into the evening hours.

At the front of the home, Belgard Catalina Grana pavers define the arrival space, creating a warm, courtyard-like entry that provides a natural transition from the driveway to the residence.

Connectivity was equally important to the overall design. A network of thoughtfully placed pathways provides seamless access around the home, creating natural connections between the driveway, outdoor living areas, and surrounding landscape.

At the southwest corner of the back patio, a retaining wall is incorporated to address the property’s grade change while helping the patio feel more expansive and grounded within the landscape. Layered trees and drought-tolerant grasses and shrubs along the back of the property further soften the sloping terrain, creating a more cohesive transition between the outdoor living areas and the surrounding landscape.
